SEQUENTIAL FIGURE & GROUND

My figureground piece utilizes the rules and constraints to portray a seamless showcase of foreground and background. In this project I used the white and black space to create a design that flows between each panel, without ever breaking the confines of the square. Through the use of a bold sans-serif typeface contrasted by a thin serif typeface I was able to create a piece that weaves between foreground and background. Though appearing as a tangled slew of letters and numbers, the piece makes viewers stop in their place to view and then they are easily able to dissect the wording and the composition.
