VINYL ALBUM COVER DESIGN

.

For the vinyl album cover I recreated the cover for the album “Paper Planes, Paper Hearts” by the band Everyone Asked About You. This album portrays young love gone wrong, and the substance and sexual abuse that came along with the heartbreak. I conveyed the young love aspect of the album by using primary color, which people tend to associate with being a kid. I also used a paper airplane and a paper heart to symbolize the fickle and frail nature of the young relationship and how fast it can crumple onto you. The characters on the front of the cover show someone taking control, sexually and mentally through the use of a figure only holding the head of another person b y the neck. The serif typeface allows the album to be legible and maintain an adult atmosphere surrounding the childish love being portrayed in the album. The contrast of the rough drawings and texture with the stagnant serif font encompass the childish, yet serious nature of the album and its contents.
